A 35-year-old woman was shot dead by three unidentified persons who looted Rs two lakh from her family in Phoolbehar, police said here today.
The armed miscreants last night looted Rs two lakh from victim Arti Devi and her husband Ashish Kumar at gun point near Aggar Khurd village here, they said.
When Arti recognized one of the miscreants, he shot her dead, police said.
Kumar told police that the incident occurred when he along with his wife, two-year-old son and his cousin, was on his way to his in-laws house and he was carrying the amount for registry of a land he had recently purchased.
A case has been registered on the basis of a complaint by Kumar and probe has started to identify and nab the culprits, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Yadav said.
