An elderly woman and her son werekilled and her husband injured in a head-on collision involving their car and a speeding private bus near Mananthavady in the district today, police said.
The victims were on their way home in Tharuvanna when the mishap occurred.
The woman and her son, who was driving the car, died while being rushed to a hospital.
Her husband was injured and had been admitted to government hospital at Mananthavady, police said.
The driver of the bus had been taken into custody for suspected rash driving, they added.
