A 32-year-old woman and her son were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a trailer on Nashik-Pune highway near Upnagar here, police said.
The mishap took place last night when Nanasaheb Bade (36), a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan, was travelling to Nashik Road area with his wife Meenal Bade (32) and son Sanskar (9), an official at Upnagar Police Station said today.
The two-wheeler was hit by a trailer (large car-carrying vehicle) from the rear side, killing the woman and the child on the spot, the officer said, adding, the deceased's husband sustained minor injuries as he was wearing helmet.
In another incident, a 26-year-old man, identified as Ramesh Mali, and his three-yer-old son were killed when a truck hit their motorcycle from behind while they were returning to Chandwad here from Niphad last night, Chandwad police said today.
