Woman stabbed, looted in Kanpur

A 30-year-old woman was seriously injured after being stabbed by two unidentified bike-borne youths, who decamped with her cash and valuables, police said here today.

The victim, identified as Rizwana had arrived at Ghatampur railway station here and was heading towards the nearby bus stand when the duo stopped near her.

They stabbed her and snatched her purse, gold ring and a chain, police said, adding, they fled after leaving her seriously injured.

According to the police, several people were present there at the time of the incident but none of them came forward to help her.

The victim was rushed to a hospital and later transferred to the city medical college as her condition deteriorated, they said.
 

Police have started a probe to identify and nab the culprits, they said.
