The incident was reported from Sangam Vihar last night and the deceased has been identified as Sabina.
Her father-in-law Arshad Ali is absconding.
The incident came to light when their landlord Mohd Salim saw Ali coming down the stairs in blood-soaked dress and with a knife.
"Seeing Salim, Ali fled the scene. Salim went upstairs and found Sabina lying in a pool of blood," a senior police official said.
Salim informed the police. "Sabina died on the spot. She received multiple injuries on her stomach and head," the official said.
Her husband Shabir Ali told police that there were some domestic issues.
Investigators said they were still investigating the motive behind the murder, including suspected illicit relationship. PTI SJY
