Woman stabbed to death, son injured in Rajasthan

A 48-year-old woman was stabbed to death and her son injured allegedly by six men over an old enmity, police said today.

The incident took place last evening in Unda village which comes under the jurisdiction of Baran Sadar police station.

The accused allegedly attacked Rukmanibai Nagar with knives and stabbed her to death outside her house, said Aashish Bhargav, the SHO at Baran Sadar police station.

Later in the evening, the men attacked the deceased's son Shyambehari Nagar (26) while he was returning home on his bike, Bhargav said.

The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem.

The police have booked the accused persons under Section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 452 (house trespass), 147 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC, the SHO said, adding that efforts are underway to nab them.
