Four members of a family including the husband have been booked in connection with a suicide case of a woman here, police said.

A case of abetment to suicide was registered against four members of the victim's in-laws following a complaint registered by the father of the deceased.

A 34-year-old woman, identified as Manjit Kaur, was found dead on a railway track at Satnampur railway crossing here on July 28, police said.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) registered a case against woman's husband Manjit Singh, Singh's brothers Maninder Singh and Manpreet Singh and his grandmother Ishar Kaur under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC, police said.

The father in the complainant alleged that her husband and other family members had been harassing Kaur, which forced her to take the extreme step.

No arrest has been made so far, they said.
