A 44-year-old woman, wife of a transport businessman, tried to attempt suicide by shooting herself with a pistol here today, police said.
Komal, wife of Manoj Gupta, bleeding profusely was admitted to a private hospital where she is battling for life, City East Superintendent of Police O P Tripathi said.
The woman shot herself in a room of her residence in Sanghi colony from foreign made license pistol of her husband, who found her wife lying in a pool of blood after he broke the door when he returned home, Tripathi said.
In a letter recovered from the residence, Komal stated that she was take the extreme step on her will and neither her family members nor acquaintances should be quizzed, he said.
Police suspect that sore relationship between the couple prompted her to commit suicide, the officer said, adding that further investigations were on.
