Woman tries to commit suicide at metro station, survives

A 29-year-old woman allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a Metro train at Guru Dronacharya station here today, an official said.

The woman, a resident of DLF phase-3 area here, reportedly jumped in front of the train when it was entering the station from Huda City Centre, ACP-PRO of Gurgaon Police Manish Sehgal said.

"The driver applied the emergency brake. The woman fell in the gap between the tracks and the station and received a few fractures. She has been admitted to a hospital," the officer said.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera, police said, adding the woman works at a private insurance company in South Delhi.
