Woman, two children found dead in C'garh

A 39-year-old woman and her two children, aged 11 and 5, were on Monday found dead under mysterious circumstances in their house in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, police said.

While Mira Singh and her son Pratyush (11) were found hanging from ceiling fans in separate rooms, her daughter Supriya (5) was lying dead on a bed with a mark of strangulation on her neck, a senior official said.

The deceased were residents of ACC Colony in Jamul area.

Police are probing the case from angles of suicide and murder.

The bodies were spotted by Singh's domestic help who informed the neighbours who in turn contacted the husband of the deceased, Ranjit, the official said.

 

Ranjit works as a deputy manger in the safety department of ACC cement plant in Jamul, he said, adding that Ranjit was on duty when he was informed about the incident.

"The bodies of Mira Singh and her daughter were found in a room while that of her son in another room", the official said.

The exact cause of their deaths will be known in postmortem report.

A forensic team has collected samples from the spot, he said.

A case has been registered.
