A 24-year-old woman and her two children died of severe burn injuries today following which a case of dowry-death was registered against the victim's in-laws, police said.

The victims have been identified as Seema, her son Kinshu (3) and a 2-year-old daughter, and they had suffered serious burn injuries and their bodies were badly charred. Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kaushal said.

Seema's father Surinder Mahajan in his complaint said that she was married to Vishal for four years and was being harassed and pressurised by her in-laws for more dowry, they said.

Mahajan alleged that the in-laws hatched a conspiracy and killed Seema and her minor kids, police said, adding that a case of dowry death under section 304 B of the IPC was registered today against prime accused Vishal, his mother Chand Rani, his sister and brother-in-law.

The victim's mother-in-law Chand Rani has been arrested while the other accused are absconding, police said, adding that a special team has been formed to nab other accused.

The bodies of the victims have been sent to local civil hospital for postmortem, police said.
