The personnel of the border guarding force intercepted the woman at a border post in Kalyani area of Nadia district yesterday.
BSF officials said 15 gold biscuits were recovered from her which weigh 1.76 kg and the market value of the consignment is estimated to be about Rs 52 lakh.
"The woman has been handed over to the local police as she was unable to explain the purpose of carrying these gold biscuits. It is suspected that she would be acting as a courier for someone," a Border Security Force (BSF) official said.
She was entering from Bangladesh side in the evening before she was intercepted based on intelligence inputs, they said.
