A national woman wrestler has allegedly been gangraped twice by her former lover and his relatives, police said today.

A case was filed today on the basis of a complaint by the 22-year-old woman who told Meerut SP (Rural) M S Baig that the accused had made a video of the incident and threatened to release it on internet if she revealed about it.

Baig told PTI that the woman had approached him yesterday with her complaint, and he had directed the concerned police station to file the case.

Bhaavanpur police station in-charge said the woman had not yet approached them. "After her statement is recorded, proceedings will be initiated against the accused," the officer said.

Baig told PTI that the woman, who claimed to be a national wrestler, had said that about one and half years back, the accused had brought her to Meerut on the pretext of marrying her. They were staying in a rented apartment since then.

When pressed about marriage, on February 20 the accused took her to his home in Bijnor. On February 23 night, she was drugged and gangraped by the lover, his father and brother, according to her complaint.

Fearing humiliation, she had kept quiet and returned to her house in Meerut. On March 13, the lover came and apologised for the incident and promised to marry her soon. On May 29, he came again with his brother-in-law, and allegedly gangraped her and also made a video of the crime.

He left threatening to release the video on internet if she revealed about the incident, the SP said quoting her complaint.
