Women are more commitment-phobic than men, according to a new study which found men are more willing to take the plunge.
The survey challenges the stereotype of commitment-phobic men, revealing that it is actually the fairer sex which is reluctant to commit.
While women wait for at least a couple of months, men are ready to commit even after a mere two dates, the survey found.
According to the findings from a recent poll of 25,000 single adults, men are faster to commit than women, 'The Australian' reported.
Asked how long it took to officially become a couple, the most popular response by men (42.1 per cent) was "after a couple of good dates".
According to 'adelaidenow', 64.5 per cent men and 68 per cent women said they could not put a time frame on when it was appropriate to exchange their house keys.
However, women appear to need their space far more than men because they were twice as likely to say there would "never" be a right time.
The most popular response among women (34.6 per cent) was that they preferred to wait "at least a few months", the survey by romantic social network Zoosk and online magazine Glamour.Com found.
Men are also quicker to show and tell, with 56.4 per cent indicating they would introduce a new love interest to friends after one to five dates, compared to 39.7 per cent of women.
