"We have demanded that fast track courts should be revived in the district," a representative of AIDMA Asha Devi said.

Presently, Gautam Buddha Nagar district has no fast track courts as these were abolished since 2011.

The UP government created 242 Fast Track Courts in 2001-02 and extension was given on annual basis.

Due to delay in extension, in 2005 High Court issued a circular to rehabilitate employees working in these courts.

In 2011 the number of fast track courts were reduced to 156. The remaining 86 fast track courts, including that of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, stood abolished.

Centre for India Trade Union(CITU), Students Federation of India(SFI), Janwadi Naujavan Sabha(JNS), Noida Jhuggi jhopri Joint Rehabilitation manch, Akhil Mahila Jan Sudhar samiti, Janwadi Mahila samiti and Akhil Bhartiya Kamgaar Union has extended support to the demand revival of fast track courts.
