A women's front today pledged resistance against any efforts by the government to "interfere" in the Sharia law and said a mass campaign will be launched to scuttle such efforts.

Addressing a programme here, National Women's Front president Zainaba AS said that no interference of the government in the Sharia law will be tolerated and a mass campaign will be launched to aware Muslim women in the country.

"The NWF supports Muslim Personal Law board and a campaign will be run across the country to create awareness among Muslim women," she said.

"The campaign will comprise seminar, talks, road shows and signature campaigns as per the direction of the board," she added.

Other speakers in the programme said that the Central government was "making politically-motivated moves" in the name of triple talaq.

They said that the BJP should not interfere in the "internal matters" of Muslims, which will not be tolerated by the community.
