Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today said women should identify their abilities, merit and true potential and contribute in nation building.
Speaking at a cultural event oragnised on the eve of International Women's Day, she said it is an occasion for the women when they should recognise their inherent strength.
Greeting the women in India and abroad, the Speaker said they should realise their true potential and should make a purposive contribution in the process of nation building.
Observing that women should identify themselves on the basis of their abilities and merit, Mahajan asked them to come forward and contribute to the society at large.
She also conferred awards on the wards of the officers or staff of the Secretariat.
