Punjab government today asked all officers to work from their offices rather than camp offices made at their residences to ensure responsive, transparent and accountable administration.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had taken a serious note over the growing tendency amongst several officers to operate from the camp offices at their residences due to which people coming from far off places face hardships to get their work done in the government offices, an official statement said here today.
Badal warned such officers to shun this undesirable practice and asked them to function from their offices from 9 am to 5 pm on all working days to ensure prompt and hassle free delivery of services to the public.
The Chief Minister also asked officers not to leave their headquarters, in any case, without prior approval from the competent authority, as it was unlawful and gross violation of the government instructions, it said.
