"We have called for a strike against the amendments made in the Act, in terms of which civil jurisdiction from the courts has been taken away and conferred upon the revenue authorities. Such kind of legislative Act is irrational, improper and unconstitutional which aims at divesting the courts from exercising judicial powers," a spokesman of the Bar Association said.
He said amendments in the Act means denial of fair and impartial justice and would develop a corrupt culture in the state.
"The amendment has a serious repercussion to prop up corrupt culture and subvert the judicial process and judicial review," the spokesman said.
