Inducting as many as 31,834 people from various political parties, including DMK and Congress into AIADMK, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today urged them to work unitedly to ensure a massive win for the party in the coming civic polls.
"You all should work unitedly for the AIADMK to register a massive win in the soon to be held local body elections," she said.
Elections to the local bodies are expected to be held in October.

Stating that the newly inducted members would be aware of the "big work" being done for people's welfare by the AIADMK government, she asked them to propagate such welfare initatives of the government among the people.
Welcoming the members from various parties, including DMK, Congress, DMDK, MDMK, CPI(M) and other smaller outfits, she said "from now on, a new dawn will blossom in your political lives."
The Chief Minister claimed that AIADMK is the 'true democratic movement' which takes along all party workers with love and that they would all will see many political victories in the coming days.
She asked them to work all the time with the "same enthusiasm as today," for the growth of AIADMK and added that she was working relentlessly with the lofty ideal of ensuring a prosperous life for the people of Tamil Nadu.
Without naming anyone, Anandraj said nobody should be
compared with Jayalalithaa.
"In the present situation, even a government officer is using Amma's name," he said, in an apparent reference to former Chief Secretary P Rama Mohana Rao, who is under Income Tax scanner, and had frequently invoked her name yesterday while defending himself during a press meet.
"Don't demean the soul of Amma by invoking her name. Don't misuse her name. Anybody is able to use her name. Please respect her," he said.
