: Around 900 Workers and staff of government owned Civil Supplies Corporation staged a dharna before the PAPSCO office here today, demanding that wages due to them for eight months be immediately disbursed.
Raising slogans they also abstained from work. The workers were engaged under 'voucher payment and on the basis of daily wages' in various retail outlets of PAPSCO, dealing in LPG cylinders, farm products and other consumer articles.
Official sources said stern action would be taken against the workers for going on agitation, particularly when the functioning of the retail outlet of LPG cylinders was dislocated.
A delegation of workers later met Chief Minister N Ranagasamy and submitted their demands.
