'World Bamboo Conference' to start in Indore from April 8

A three-day 'World Bamboo Conference' will begin here from April 8, an official said today.

To promote Indian bamboo industry globally the measures will be discussed during the conference, Indore Chief Conservator of Forest Purshottam Dhiman told reporters here.

Union Environment and Forests Minister Prakash Javadekar, Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan are expected to take part in the conference, he added.

People associated with the industry including investors from China, Bhutan, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines and India will participate in the event, Dhiman said.
