Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today said the government would have taken measures to contain the situation in the valley had it known it would turn worse after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
"Eliminating militants are part of daily operations of the
security forces, but had we (government) apprehended that this (killing of Wani) would take such a shape or if we had information that situation would take such a bad shape we would have made proper arrangements," he told reporters in Katra town of district Reasi.

and if the government had known it precautions would have been taken to contain it.
"That was a routine anti-terror operation and the terrorists were killed. The issue that was created after it was handled in one or two days, had we known that the situation would take such a turn we would have taken precautionary measures," he said.
Singh said "the terrorists who take up guns would be dealt the same way.
