Opposition National Conference working president Omar Abdullah today said he would not allow the PDP-BJP government to ignore his Beerwah assembly constituency.

"I am not a weak MLA, nor will I remain a mute spectator while the State Government dispenses governance selectively depending on its partisan interests," Omar said addressing workers meeting in his assembly segment in central Kashmir Budgam district.

The former chief minister said he would fight for the rights of the people of his constituency.

"I will fight for your rights and will not allow the Government to deprive you of what is your due," he said.

Despite inclement weather, Omar held detailed interactions with the people of his constituency who briefed him about the progress of various works in their respective areas.

Public delegations also apprised Omar of their grievances and issues which were duly noted and slated for redressal with various government departments, a spokesman of the National Conference said.

Omar demanded that the Khag-Toisamaidaan road should be taken up for upgradation as this road was crucial for tourism prospects in these areas.

The NC Working President also demanded the upgradation of Primary Health Center (PHC) Khag to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) as this would cater to the needs of the people in Khag who have to commute long distances for basic health procedures and ailments.
