Railway sources admitted there was some mistake in the announcement for the platforms of down Kalyani-Majerhat local and Sealdah-bound Shantipur local trains by the on-duty staff.
Arrangements were later made to stop the two trains at Titagarh station to provide passengers the facility of availing the services, the sources said.
Passengers put up obstructions at Jagaddal station by placing sleepers on track and damaging window panes of Sealdah-bound Naihati local train.
Normal services resumed with the withdrawal of obstruction, the sources added.
