The Entrepreneurship Development Centre at Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur launched its first ever Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) to support and encourage budding student entrepreneurs.
"Our objective in launching the E-Cell is to foster a breed of entrepreneurs who are equipped with conceptual and operational skills required for running an entrepreneurial venture successfully," said Prabal K Sen, Chairperson, Entrepreneurship Development Centre.
The prime objective of the E-Cell will be to develop business ideas for students who are eager to become entrepreneurs but are unsure about the way forward. The initiative will help both budding and would-be entrepreneurs with activity ideas, practical guidance, bank linkages, conducting research activities, training entrepreneurs, identifying opportunities and pursuing them.
The E-Cell will have an advisory committee with faculty members, alumni members, business heads and government officials to look, plan and implement the activities that would initially include funding, bank linkages and incubation.
The purpose of the cell is to create a culture of entrepreneurship for all stakeholders of XLRI including students, faculty and alumni. The cell would make students familiar with the bottlenecks likely to be faced by an entrepreneur and adequately trained them to get over those bottlenecks whenever they emerge.
