Press Trust of India Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today stressed on effectively checking "divisive forces" who are out to create hatred in society.

"Amidst the good people in society there are also some forces which are out to create division by adopting different means... Everyone needs to work together to effectively counter them," Yadav was quoted by an official spokesman after launching a local daily here.

"Hindu-Muslim brotherhood has remained strong for hundreds of years and cannot be weakened despite efforts by divisive forces," he said.

Referring to the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, Yadav said people have proved once again that their power is supreme.

"People have the supreme power in democracy, it has been proved in the Delhi elections as has been done several times earlier," Yadav said.

Terming Hindi and Urdu as the languages which developed together, Yadav said that these two languages give strength to the "Ganga-Yamuni tehzib" (composite culture) of the state.
