Congress tonight expressed confidence that the issue of Haryana Power Minister Ajay Singh Yadav's resignation will be resolved in a day or two after the central leadership of the party had a meeting with him here.

Yadav also met Hooda before he called on AICC general secretary in-charge for the state Shakeel Ahmad here.

Sources said either Yadav will take back his resignation or the Chief Minister will reject it thereby ensuring that the minister continues in the state cabinet.

"Yadav met me. He is a very respected and senior leader. We had a detailed discussion about the grievances. After the discussions, I can say that the issue will be resolved in a day or two," Ahmed told PTI after the meeting.

Before meeting Yadav, Ahmed, who is also Congress spokesperon, had downplayed the resignation of Yadav.

"Ajay Singh Yadav has said he will not leave the party. Of course, he has quit the state cabinet," Ahmed had said at the AICC briefing.

The six-time MLA from Rewari yesterday resigned from the ministry and attacked Hooda for "failing to learn lessons" from the Lok Sabha election debacle.

On Hooda asking him to reconsider his decision, Yadav had earlier said "I am going to meet my leaders in Delhi. I will not like to speak anything on this issue now before meeting my leaders.
