Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today raised the pitch for increased investments in the state.

"We have made a policy for investment in order to apprise the investors the facilities state government would provide. It would provide maximum facilities for investors in power sector," Yadav said while inaugurating 18 megawatt biomass based power plant and first green silica plant of the world in Chhatta in Mathura district today.

He claimed that the state government is providing cheap power even though it has to suffer a heavy loss for the same.

The CM appealed investors to invest more in power sector since the government wants to ensure "round the clock power supply in urban areas and 14-16 hour supply in rural areas."

"Since government is providing all possible help, two plants of Amul Dairyare in UP... Mother Dairy is also coming... There is lot of potential in dairying in the state," Yadav said.

He added: "Invest in UP, especially in agro-based industries and we would cooperate without any discrimination."

Claiming that 55 lakh people have benefitted in the state with Samajvadi pension scheme, Yadav called upon party activists to go to villages and apprise the villagers about various schemes run by the state government.
