Yamaha domestic two-wheeler sales soar 50% in Feb

Press Trust of India New Delhi
India Yamaha Motor today reported a 49.96% jump in domestic sales at 56,960 units in February.

The company had sold 37,982 units in the same month a year ago, India Yamaha Motor said in a statement.

The sales growth can be attributed to the company's increasing focus on expanding in tier II and III cities, along with ongoing customer-centric activities and product lineup, including Yamaha Fascino and FZ series, it added.

"This consecutive growth of 50% in February too, is a result of Yamaha's innovative customer contact programs and increasing reach," Yamaha Motor India Sales Vice-President - Sales & Marketing, Roy Kurian said.

On the Budget he said, "While the automobile sector could be impacted with respect to luxury vehicles, the initiatives proposed for the rural segment in terms of investment and financial security are very encouraging, especially for the two-wheeler segment.
