Yamaha sales up 17% in January

Domestic sales grew by 6.5%

Yamaha Motor India today reported 17.4% jump in total two-wheeler sales at 42,595 units in January 2014 as compared to 36,295 units in the same month of the previous year.

Domestic sales grew by 6.5% at 31,721 units as against 29,785 units in the same month previous year, the company said in a statement.

In the export markets, the company sold 10,874 units last month, compared to 6,510 units in January 2013 - up 67%, it added.

Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd Vice President (Sales & Marketing) Roy Kurian said: "Apart from our new scooter launches, the robust results can be attributed to our strong product portfolio and steadfast customer confidence.
