Yashwant Sinha meets Nepal's top leadership

Sinha, who is here on a three day personal visit, met President Ram Baran Yadav yesterday and enquired about the latest political developments in Nepal.

Yadav had hosted a dinner reception in honour of Sinha at Rastrapati Bhawan.

Sinha today called on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and discussed the Constitution drafting process and the current political situation in the country.

"Nepal's stalled peace process, the Constitution drafting process and the current political situation were mainly figured during the discussion. The two leaders also discussed matters relating to the economic ties between Nepal and India," according to official sources.

Bhattarai told Sinha that attempts had been made to forge political consensus to end political impasse.

 

Sinha is also expected to meet senior leaders of various political parties in Nepal.
