Shooter Yashwini earned a quota place for this year's Youth Olympic Games after she bagged the air pistol silver medal on a day India won seven medals, including two team gold, at the 7th Asian Championship in Kuwait today.
The 2014 Youth Olympic Games will be held in Nanjing, China, from August 16-28.
All three Indian shooters -- Malaika Goel, Gouri Sheoran, besides Yashwini -- reached the finals of this event, but the quota went to Yashwini on the basis of her winning the silver.

Yashwini's score in the finals was 193. Goel won the bronze with final score of 174.9. The fourth position went to Sheoran, who scored 154.7.
As per the rule, only one quota place can be earned by a country.
Yashwini's score in the qualification round was 377, while Goel was leading the round with a score of 385/400. The gold medal was pocketed by Kim M of Korea.
The team of Goel (385), Yashwini (377) and Sheoran (375) won the team gold medal in air pistol youth women.
The team consisting of Vishwajit Singh (568), Vikas Dhama (562) and Karnav Bishnoi (557) won the gold medal in team event with a total score of 1687/1800 in air pistol junior men.
Vishwajit Singh was ranked 5th in the finals with a score of 136. His score in the qualification was 568/400. Dhama was ranked 8th with a score of 73.6 in the finals.
Shreya Gawande won the individual bronze medal in air pistol junior women category. Her scores were 376 and 173.4. Sakshi Dagar, who also reached the finals of this event, scored 371 and 66.3.
The team of Gawande (376), Dagar (371) and Nayani Bhardwaj (371) won the silver medal with a total score of 1118/1200.
In air pistol youth men, Mohit Gaur reached the finals with a qualifying score of 565/600. He was ranked 4th, but missed the opportunity to win a quota place after finishing 6th in the finals with a score of 112.2.
The team of Mohit Gaur (565), Anmol Jain (558) and Mayank Pathak (549) won the bronze medal in team event.
