The Young Mizo Association (YMA) volunteers today intercepted six trucks at Mizoram-Manipur border village of Ngopa carrying petrol and diesel for sale on higher rates in Manipur.
President of the YMA's Tuiphal Group K Lianhmingthanga told PTI they had stopped two heavy trucks, one medium truck and three pick-up trucks carrying oil from Aizawl to Manipur.
Lianhmingthanga said the trucks were carrying 103 barrels of oil, mainly petrol - totalling around 23,690 litres.

Manipur has been facing shortage of essential commodities due to road blockade by the United Naga Council since November 1.
The central committee of the YMA had instructed its units along the road leading to Manipur from Aizawl to keep a close watch on transportation of oil by black marketeers to ensure that Mizoram has sufficient oil supply during Christmas and New Year festivities.
The state government also took steps to end black marketing of oil which adversely affected the consumers, Secretary for state Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department Dr Franklin Lalthankhuma said.
