The Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP today claimed that the Yogi Adityanath led dispensation in the state was a government of the farmers and was focusing on measures for their welfare.

In a statement issued here today, UP BJP spokesperson Manish Shukla claimed that it was after a long time that a government in the state was paying emphasis on the welfare of farmers.

He claimed the government had taken a number of steps in the interest of farmers such as crop loan redemption scheme, availability of solar pumps, record purchase of wheat from farmers, purchase of potato and 95 per cent payment of dues to sugarcane famers.

"The Adityanath government is a government of the farmers. After a long time, a government has come in the state, which is working for the interests of the farmers. The state government will be branding fruits and vegetables of the farmers at the international level. UP Chief Minister Adityanath is likely to participate in the World Food India," Shukla said.

The 'World Food India 2017 expo', is a vibrant three-day business platform scheduled from November 3 to November 5 in New Delhi.

It will host over 2,000 participants, more than 200 companies from 30 countries, 18 ministerial and business delegations, nearly 50 global CEOs along with CEOs of all leading domestic food processing companies, and representatives of 28 states in India.

Germany, Japan and Denmark are partner countries to World Food India, whereas Italy and the Netherlands are focus countries.
