Young comedian looking forward to 'stand up' on his own

Nineteen-year-old Jay, a resident of Rajkot, underwent two operations on his knees at Allahabad last year.

Dr J K Jail, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon from Allahabad, operated on him.

Jay was recovering and was able to walk with the help of crutches, his father Deepak Chhaniyara said today. Now he is receiving physiotherapy.

The young comedian, who has appeared TV shows including 'Laughter Challenge', was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was two. It rendered him almost immobile.

Talking to reporters here, Jay said he missed his childhood duo to the health condition.

"I have missed my childhood....I could not go to the school -- I had to drop out after second standard.

 

"But now I am looking forward to be able to walk without support."
