Young couple returning after voting killed in TN road mishap

A young couple, returning after casting their votes in the Lok Sabha elections, were killed when a speeding brand new car knocked down their motorcycle near here today, police said.

Four occupants of the car, registered only yesterday, were seriously injured in the mishap, they said.

24-year old Arjun, a private bus driver, and his 20-year old wife Aishwarya were returning home after casting their franchise at a booth in Othakalamandapal on the city outskirts when the mishap occurred near Malumichampatti, police said.

The driver of the car was thrown to a distance of 150 feet away under the impact of the smash at very high speed.
 

The injured had been admitted to the Government Hospital here.
