New age author of best-seller paperbacks Ravinder Singh calls upon the present day youth to be more responsive and not just propelled by career dreams.

Ravinder, whose last 'Your Dreams Are Mine Now' is now disappearing from shelves across book stores, told an awe-struck gathering of young students, professionals at 'The Story', "If most of you don't want to be a politician, do ask yourself why."

Asking the young career-minded students to be aware about how the country functions, about the tax system and all, the strapping six-footer with a stubble said, "If I ask whether you pay taxes some of you might say no. But you must be aware of the fact that all of us are indirectly paying taxes."

"The bill you pay at the coffee shop, at restaurants after an outing, includes the taxes. The government taxes you for every service and it goes to the state coffer," he said by way of enlightening the young crowd.

The author, known as the King of Romance, whose latest title weaves the dreams and ambitions set in the famed Delhi University, interacted with the audience about the world of student politics where the Jadavpur University student agitation was also referred by a girl.

"My female protagonist is a whistle blower," Ravinder said adding the novel, published by Penguin India, without directly referring to any episode, seeks to address several issues faced by the society.
