A 4-year-old girl was raped by a youth at Bhal-Velavadar village in Gariyadhar tehsil of Gujarat's Bhavnagar district, police said today.
The accused, who is 15 years old, was known to the victim's family, said sub-inspector R N Dave of Gariyadhar taluka police station.
He allegedly lured the girl out by offering some savouries and raped her at a nearby house, Dave said.
While the girl was hospitalised, the accused was absconding, he said.
A complaint has been lodged under section 376 of Indian Penal Code as well as sections of Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act.
