Youth accused of shooting a girl, arrested

With the arrest of the main accused, Gurgaon Police today claimed to have solved the murder of a sales girl, who was shot dead a week ago.

The Crime Branch of Gurgaon Police arrested Pawan from Bharthal village in Delhi's Dwarka area, a police spokesperson said.

The 27-year-old Pawan, along with his accomplices, had fired two rounds on Gunjan Dutt, 18, when she was returning home from work on March 27.

She worked as a sales girl with Patanjali store in Sector-21 here.

Pawan had been stalking Dutt on her way to her residence in Palam Vihar area to store for past couple of months.
 

"Pawan was forcing her to accept his marriage proposal but when she denied, he along with his accomplices fired two rounds on her. She was later declared brought dead at a nearby hospital," ACP-PRO Manish Sehgal said.

The victim was pursuing graduation from Delhi University School of Open Learning and worked part-time at the Patanjali store from last six months.

A case was of murder was earlier registered against Pawan on the complaint of the victim's family.
