A youth and a juvenile have been apprehended for allegedly murdering a watchman in outer Delhi's Rohini area, police said today.

The Youth identified as Ashish, a first year student at a prestigious west Delhi college under the University of Delhi and the juvenile, have been apprehended and the police have recovered a country made pistol from their possession, DCP (outer) Vikramjit Singh said.

The incident took place on December 27 night when the watchman, identified as Singh Bahadur, a native of a village in Nepal, was found shot dead by unidentified persons.

The case was solved when a person who read about murder of the watchman in the newspaper, called up police claiming he had information about the deceased and suspects in the case.

During interrogation, it emerged that Ashish was in love with a woman, who was engaged with Bahadur. Around two months ago, Ashish had also called up Bahadur's relatives and threatened them of dire consequences if they did not cancel the marriage.

When that did not work, Ashish allegedly decided to kill Bahadur and also roped in the juvenile, police added.
