Police today arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly abducting a teenager from near the Bharawas Gate Railway Crossing and later raping her.
The incident took place on Saturday when one Daulat allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl and took her to a relative's house at Khawaspur village in Gurgaon district and raped her there, police said.
Daulat, resident of the nearby Kharkhari village, was arrested yesterday. He was today produced in a local court which remanded him in judicial custody, they said.
Police registered a case of abduction and under section 4 of the POCSO Act against the accused based on a complaint yesterday filed by the victim's father.
He alleged that his daughter, when she was on her way to school on Saturday morning, was kidnapped by Daulat who raped her at his relative's house and then left her here during the night-time, police said.
The victim underwent a medical examination in local civil hospital last evening, they added.
