"Gyan Prakash, who owns a cooking gas agency, was arrested from his home in Bettiah in West Champaran district on the basis of the complaint and is being brought to Bodh Gaya," Gaya City SP Akhtar Hussain told PTI
"The 41-year-old Filipino woman Sela Akobin came to Patna to meet Gyan Prakash on December 29. They stayed in Patna and Bodh Gaya and the woman in her complaint alleged the youth did not fulfill his commitments of marrying her and cheated her," he said.
Akobin emailed a complaint to Bihar Director General of Police Abhyanand that she met Gyan Prakash on the internet and used to chat with him regularly. Thus they became friends, he said.
On the basis of Akobin's complaint, the DGP directed the IGP Weaker Section Arvind Pandey to look into it and on Pandey's instruction the police lodged a complaint with Bodh Gaya police station, sources said.
