A 25-year-old man, involved in six house break-in cases and theft of a motorcycle in the recent past, was arrested here today.
P Veerababu was nabbed by Central Crime Station (CCS) wing of the police from near the railway station. Gold weighing 278 gms was recovered from him, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) T Ravi Kumar Murthy said.
A resident of Kakinada town in East Godavari district, he moved to the city in May this year. He committed his first crime on May 27 by stealing about Rs 1.8 lakh in cash from a LIC employee's house at KRM Colony, he said.
He later went on to commit five more house break-ins under various police station limits besides stealing a motorcycle in Pedagantyada area, Murthy added.
