Youth arrested on charge of drug peddling

A 21-year-old man was arrested in central Delhi for allegedly carrying 2kg each of mandrax and hashish, police said today.

Mohd Abid, who resides in Seelampur, was apprehended from near Kallu Bhagat Mandir in Kamla Market area yesterday on a tip off, Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said.

Abid told police that he is working at an embroidery shop in Kamla Market, Delhi.

"He came in the contact with one Islamuddin who allegedly lured him into drug trade with the hope of making quick money," Kumar said.

Mandrax is illegally used as a recreational drug.
