A youth was seriously injured after being beaten up allegedly by the family members of his girlfriend in M E Road under Jugsalai police station here today, the police said.
Around 24-year-old Rahul Kumar Sharma had gone to meet his girlfriend who lives in M E Road when her relatives allegedly thrashed him, injuring his seriously, Jugsalai Officer-In-charge Inspector Ashok Kumar Giri.
He was first taken to the M G M Hospital but the doctors there referred him to Tata Main Hospital for better treatment.
Complaint has been lodged from both sides in this connection, Giri said adding that one person from the girl's family was detained for questioning.
