A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his in-laws in village Nagla Utavar, police said today.
The deceased was identified as Luqman.
According to the complaint lodged by the deceased's brother, Lukman was married to Aqleema and his in-laws were pressurizing him to pay Rs 2 lakh or snap ties with his wife.
On the false pretext of illness of his mother-in-law, Lukman was called in Nagla Utavar and was allegedly beaten since he refused to divorce her, the complaint said.
An FIR has been registered against nine persons including Lukman's four brother-in-laws.
THe body has been sent for post mortem.
