A youth was booked for allegedly abducting a young woman, police said today.
Anikat of Mandi Kheda village of Mewat district allegedly eloped with a young woman of Odhi village, near Bawal, on the night of November 25.
Anikat, a Dalit youth who frequently visited Odhi, was in a relationship with the woman, also a Dalit and whose marriage was to take place with some other youth on January 26, 2015.
However, Anikat and the woman, decided to enter into wedlock, eloped on November 25, police said.
After a search, the woman's father yesterday filed a complaint following which the police registered a case of abduction against Anikat.
