An FIR has been lodged against a 20-year-old boy for allegedly assaulting a 10-year old girl while she was answering the nature's call at a village here, police said here today.
Sunny Kumar allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of the victim when she had gone to an isolated place to answer the call of the nature yesterday. He allegedly assaulted her, they said.
The youth fled when the girl raised the alarm.
The victim along with her family had gone to Sangatpur village to attend a religious fair.
Rawalpindi SHO Inspector Joginderpal said the accused was booked under sections 354-C (voyeurism or watching a woman in private act) and 323 (causing hurt) of IPC and sections of under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
He is absconding, the official added.
