Police today booked a youth on the charge of attempting to outrage the modesty of a minor at Bhagike village in the district.
On the complaint of the 13-year-old victim, police registered a case against Parvinder Singh (23), a neighbour of the complainant, for allegedly entering her house and using force in a bid to outrage her modesty on last evening.
When she raised an alarm her father, who was in other room of the house, arrived at the spot, as per the complaint.
The accused managed to escape, police said, adding a search is on for him.
